My entry for Britt's contest

This is my essay for Britt's contest:

What do I live for?  It is more what I am trying to live for.  Everyday distractions come try and swallow me up, attempting to pull me away from the only One who is important enough to live for: God.  Many times I bend to these distractions, and God gets pushed away to the corner.

One thing I can't even comprehend, though, is that God loves us, He loves me, no matter how many times I mess up.  No matter how many times I say: "Oh, I don't need to do my devotions today.  I can do them tomorrow." Or "I'll read my Bible some other time."  Or I fight with my siblings or fail to do my chores.  God is still right there, waiting for me to come to Him, to talk to Him.  I fail Him so many times, but He still loves me endlessly.  And once I confess my sins, God is right there, more than happy to forgive me.  I just think that this is amazing, and it is something that I forget so many times.

He is so loving and merciful, and I am realizing that more and more everyday.  No matter how many times I mess up, no matter how many times I place other things before Him, no matter what I do, God is always there, steadfast and unchanging.

Thanks!
Hannah
