My Story! :)

Hey guys!

Today I walked in a race today at our church!  I wasn't trying to win, it was more just for fun. :)

Anyway, I thought I would post some of my story that I've been working on today!

I hope you like it... let me know what you think. :)

Chapter 1

Faster and faster I ran.  All I could think about was getting away from there, the place that had so long been called my “home”, the place that had scarred me for life.

It was around midnight as I made my way down an old back street.  Just an hour earlier, I had snuck out of my parents house with a backpack full of supplies in it.

I had endured fourteen years of abuse by my parents, and I couldn’t take anymore.  I felt like every bone in my body was about to break.  Bruises and scars were everywhere on me.  I collapsed onto the ground.  Tears threatened to burst from me at any second.

Suddenly, I stiffened.  I heard footsteps coming towards me.  I stood up slowly.

“How could they have realized I left so quickly?” I thought to myself.

My sadness suddenly turns to anger.  How dare they hurt me!  How dare they come after me!

The next thing I knew, my hand had swung back.  I heard a type of buzzing noise, and then I threw with all my might what looked like a purple ball in the direction of the footsteps.  It landed with a loud CRACK!

Then pain took over my body again.  I fell to the ground and knew no more.

*****

I blinked.  Groggily, I sat up.  Oddly enough, my body didn’t hurt anymore.

I glanced around with surprise.  The room I was in was painted lime green.  Posters were hung on the wall with horses-wait, were they horses?  I leaned forward.  No, they were pegasuses!  The bed I was lying in was a soft pink color, and was so warm and cozy.

Across the room was a wooden desk.  I slowly crawled out of bed and walked over to take a closer look.  The books on the desk consisted mainly of two subjects: magic and thunderstorms.

“What in the world?” I thought with confusion.

Where was I?  How did I get here?

Suddenly, the door to the room opened.  I whirled around.  A lady was standing there with a smile on her face.

I was about to get my questions answered.

It's definitely not the best, but I hope you guys enjoyed it! I'll probably make a tab for it. :)

Love,
Hannah

Youth Group

Hey guys!

How have you been?  I've been doing good!

I wanted to share with you something that I experienced Wednesday night. I went to my church's youth group for the first time ever, and it was amazing.  I felt like I really needed to be there, and God knew that.

I met one nice girl in particular that was really nice and welcoming.  And a nice guy from my co-op place, played the drums in the youth band, and I talked with him for a little.  All of the people there were so nice and welcoming.  I was extremely nervous going, as I didn't know a single person there, and I'm really shy.  But now I'm so glad I went.

The sermon was about love.  This verse is what we talked about mostly: 1 Corinthians 13: 1-3 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

It made me think a lot.

Even though you might be the smartest person in the world, without love, we are nothing.

Even though you might have tremendous faith in God, without love, we are nothing.

Even though you might make tremendous sacrifices, and even die for your beliefs, without love, we have gained nothing.

I know I don't usually do posts like this, but I felt like I needed to post about my experience Wednesday.

I am definitely going back Wednesday.  Even though I am shy and being in large groups makes me nervous, it was an awesome experience, and I want to go back and try and make some friends and learn more about God.

Thanks for reading guys!  I love y'all! (Yes, the Texan part in me just showed! :D)

Love,
Hannah
